Moom Aroi is a seafood restaurant in Pattaya that sits right on the water in Naklua, the quieter north end of town. My wife and I drove over from our hotel for a late lunch on Sunday 23 August 2026. It was our first visit and we paid ฿850 for two in an air-conditioned room facing the sea. This post covers how to find it, where to sit, what we ate and the one dish I would add to the order.

Finding This Seafood Restaurant In Pattaya

Moom Aroi is at 83/4 Soi Naklua 4 and opens daily from 10.30am to 11pm. The name means delicious corner, which some listings spell Mum Aroi. Look for the green Thai lettering on a pink triangle above the gate.

We were staying at the Pullman Pattaya Hotel G on Wong Amat Beach and drove over, although a taxi would do the job as well. Parking is free and the car park is huge.

Live Tanks And Prices By The Kilo

Tiled tanks hold the live seafood, with boards that price it by the fish or by the kilo. On our visit sea bass was ฿480 a fish, blue swimming crab ฿1,200 a kilo and Phuket lobster ฿3,900 a kilo. A poster offered live grouper at ฿899 a fish, cooked any way you like.

Open Hall Or Air-Conditioned Room

The main dining room is a huge open-sided hall under a steel roof, with fans, rows of tables and the sea along one side. It was busy at 2.43pm on a Sunday, yet we did not have to wait, because there are so many tables. As it was not packed, the staff let us choose where to sit. We took one of the glass-fronted VIP rooms, which have air conditioning, at no extra charge.

For dinner I would book ahead. The sign on the VIP room door gives 062 835 9455, by phone or LINE, for tables and VIP rooms.

What We Ate

We ordered tom yum with seafood, stir-fried morning glory and rice. All of it was terrific. Order the tom yum as we did: it arrives in a steel hot pot and it is a proper Thai tom yum with a mix of seafood in it.

The bill for two came to ฿850, which I thought was fair. A notice on one of the pillars asks you to tell the manager if a dish tastes off, so that the kitchen can change it at once.

The dish I would add is goong chae nam pla, raw prawns marinated in fish sauce, which the menu lists at ฿360. It is one of my favourite Thai dishes: it can look scary, but it is amazing to eat. The heat is medium, so be warned.

The Sea View And The Small Beach

The terrace looks straight out to sea, with fishing boats at anchor and the far shore of the bay on the horizon. Below it is a very small beach. You can walk down to it, as one family had done with their children while we were there.

This was our first meal at Moom Aroi and we will be back. For more on the town, read our guide to Pattaya, which is about two hours by car from Bangkok. We will add more places to eat as we review them.
